A member of President Donald Trump's administration traded
barbs online with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over Department of
Government Efficiency Chief Elon Musk's work to identify wasteful spending
associated with USAID.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy responded to a Clinton
jab online after saying DOGE staff under Musk were going to help the department
improve its aviation systems following a pair of deadly plane crashes during
Duffy's brief tenure.
Clinton claimed the department has "deteriorated"
under Duffy's leadership, ignoring every accident and mishap in transportation
infrastructure during former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg's
four-year tenure.
"You have to put this aside," he noted before
revealing that Musk's team had also uncovered "extreme fraud" by Bill
and Hillary Clinton through USAID, Sean Duffy said.
"I know you're attacking because DOGE is uncovering
your family's obscene scam through USAID, but I won't let you lie and distort
the facts," Duffy, a former Fox News host, wrote in a Thursday post. “I am
returning this department to its safety mission through the use of innovative
transportation technology in infrastructure,” Duffy concluded.
